Hungarian Celebs Savagely Undercut by Hungarian Pornstars
While everyone knows that a porn star like Dóra Mészáros (some of whom is pictured) charges around Ft 30,000 (€108) to perform for a stag party, the earnings of Hungary's top names have always been a closely guarded secret. Until now, writes Esti Hírlap. It reports that offline and under-cover tabloid Napi Ász has got hold of a "confidential" document listing the fees (gázsi) of nearly all Hungarian performers. And if you thought Ft 30,000 was cheap for a Playboy model wearing a wedding dress and weilding a bucket of ice, you were right.
By far the most expensive musician is camp violinist Edvin Marton, who pockets Ft 525,000 (€1,900) for a 40-minute performance, not including tax and travel costs. "Edvin's shows require special equipment, which we provide for every venue," his manager, György Zentai said. "This amount is not exclusively Edvin's gázsi. Apart from the equipment, the five girls who perform with him have to be paid, too. Also, Edvin Marton asks for three times as much abroad as he does at home."
Humorist Imre Bajor's gázsi is Ft 210,000. "I'm a gentleman, I don't like to talk about this," he said, before confirming that he receives Ft 210,000 (€760) for a performance and that if he needs to travel, he scabs Ft 70 per kilometer. "Of course this is different if I'm invited to a poor village, because I am happy to go for less money. The fee suggests a certain quality, which is why my performances cost so much. We work for this all our lives, and this has to be factored into the price," Bajor said.
There is no amount alongside showman Sándor Fábry's and humorist József Sas's names; the list says, "performance fees by negotiation." "Megasztár 1" silver medallist Ibolya Oláh gives concerts exclusively with her band, charging Ft 470,000, plus Ft 110 per kilometer. "Yes, the fee is around that," her manager, Gábor Frankl agreed.
